Went there recently and took photos of the area including one of the property now on the original site. I lived in Wilton Road and attended Singlegate School during the war years. My child has to spend time alone while I am working, is this the kind of neighbourhood where you wouldn't worry having a child commuting alone to school. I am 28 and sometimes I have to come home late after work, is it safe for a girl to walk alone in midnight? Are there taxis in theaerea? Any advice is valuable. I've never felt scared or threatened walking around on my own I often have to walk home from the tube late on my own and it's fine. If it's very late I sometimes get a black cab from wimbledon which is a good option if you're a bit the worse for wear! All I can say is that I moved to Colliers wood 7 years ago and find it a nice quiet place to live. I have lovely neighbours, who are trustworthy and friendly and if you are worried about walking home at night there is a taxi office right outside the tube.
